Color Woodblock Print
Sandy works as a full-time artist specializing in pastels, drawings with colored pencils, oil on canvas, and oil on board. She has exhibited her paintings and drawings extensively in galleries in N.H. and Maine.
Sandy took Matt Brown’s very first color woodblock print class in 1997 and has been making color woodblock prints, often several new images each year, ever since. She explains that her interest in the language of color woodblock printmaking informs her other work through its emphasis on pictorial structure and a primacy of color dynamics. Pictured is a photo of her at work during a Matt Brown workshop in 2017.
