Catherine Green

Born in Montana, Catherine lives and works in Stratham, NH. She received her BFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and did graduate work at Tufts University. A year of painting and printmaking in Rome shaped her pursuit of an aesthetic of classicism and grace. She found the printmaking process of silkscreen conducive to this interest, and has developed a style of complete and total personal involvement, producing her prints start to finish entirely herself. She uses as many as forty-five separate hand-cut stencils to make her prints which may take up to six months to complete. Using the finest ink on one hundred percent rag stock of archival quality, Catherine has been a juried member of the League of NH Craftsmen since 1983. Her prints have won awards in numerous exhibits and events throughout New England; they live on the walls of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of residences and businesses thanks to her years of selling them through galleries and art shows since the 1980’s.
