Annie Bissett
Color Woodblock Print
Annie Bissett works as a freelance digital illustrator (clients include the National Geographic Society, The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post and a wide range of magazines), but pursues her printmaking seriously as a second career. In 2005, after taking a _hanga-_style color woodblock workshop with printmaker Matt Brown, she began exploring the technique in earnest, making it her own. She has since exhibited woodblock prints extensively in the United States and Canada, in Japan and in the U.K.
Annie’s prints have received critical attention in _Printmaking Today_, _The Stranger_ and _The Washington Post;_ her work is featured in April Vollmer’s recent book _Japanese Woodblock Print Workshop_. She is on the teaching staff at Zea Mays Printmaking in Florence, MA, and occasionally teaches workshops at other locations.
